Q: What happens after a Working From Home Condition Survey?

The report will determine what, if any actions are required what, if any actions are required. Our individual reports will identify areas that fall below the recommended standards using a traffic light system, where red items require urgent attention, amber items should be considered and green items require no further action. We will apply an overall score for each employee working from home condition survey to enable businesses to prioritise urgent action with their employees. Subject to the individual report and recommended actions, our stage 2 design may or may not be required, this can be discussed in more detail once the initial Working From Home Condition Surveys have been carried out and our report issued.

Q: How long will it take to receive a report?

Depending on the number of employees to be surveyed, the final report will be available within 10 days of the final survey date. For larger employers we can split employees into smaller groups and issue interim reports where required with a final overall company report to follow. We will discuss and agree a programme of works (survey / reports) to suit each client.

Q: What if staff are self-isolation or shielding whilst working from home?

We can defer survey dates / arrange a revisit for any staff who may be self-isolating or shielding. Our surveyors will adhere to current government guidelines regarding visiting homes and wear any PPE required, or requested by the employee. Equally we understand that some employees will simply not feel comfortable with our surveyors in their homes which is perfectly understandable, in such cases we will not be able to carry out a Working From Home Condition Survey.

Q: Can Working From Home Condition Surveys be carried out online / by phone?

Our surveys must be carried out in person by one of our team as it's not possible to fully assess the working environment remotely.

Q: What does a Working From Home Condition Survey cover?

Our Working from home condition survey covers all aspects of the physical working environment of your employees including lighting, heating, ventilation, power, data and workstation provision.

Q: What PPE will your surveyors wear?

All of our surveyors will carry PPE and adhere to current government guidelines for visiting someone else’s home. If requested, our surveyors will wear face masks and overshoes. However, should any of your staff be shielding a working from home condition survey may not be possible at this time. We can arrange a phone / video call or offer the member of staff an online survey to complete.

Q: What if the employee is not home at the agreed time?

We will make contact with the employer should there be no answer at time of visit. If contact cannot be made with the employee, we will wait for a maximum of 30 minutes. Missed appointments will be charged at 50% of survey rate and rescheduled with the employer nominated contact.

Q: What access is required?

We will only require access to the primary working room / space. No access to any other part of the home is required.

Q: How long will the Working From Home Condition Survey take?

The survey itself should take no more than 30 minutes and we will minimize disruption to employees working environment / tasks during the inspection. We anticipate no 'downtime' during the survey, however there may be minimal disruption whilst we ask the employee questions about their working environment.

Q: Who arranges the Working From Home Condition Survey?

We will coordinate the working from home condition surveys with HR or a nominated point of contact at the employer. We will not make any direct contact with the employee until the day of the survey. We may request a list of addresses to enable us to effectively organise surveys in the most efficient way possible considering travel times and distances between surveys.
